Q

Clinic accessibility and parking?

A

There is plenty of free parking outside the Black Barn building.

The clinic is located on the first floor with a wide staircase and small steps, there is a seating area upstairs on the right side. No step-free access.

Q

What is Osteopathy?

A

Osteopaths are highly trained Allied Health Professionals providing a tailored, whole-person approach to health.

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, dry needling, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and help your body’s healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms from recurring.

Q

How many appointments I will need?

A

Some minor issues are resolved with one or two osteopathic treatments.

More complex or chronic conditions may need more time, and you may need 3-6 sessions. We always reassess patients after 3 sessions for progress and treatment plan adjustment if needed.

In some cases, osteopathy can help you manage a condition alongside medication or other medical interventions.

Your general health, stress levels and lifestyle will have an impact on your recovery time. Your active participation – via exercises and lifestyle adjustments is crucial in supporting your recovery journey.

Q

Does my private insurance covers my treatment?

A

Osteopathy is recognised by most major healthcare insurance companies so it is always worth contacting them before booking your appointment.

If they ask for osteopaths’ details: Sigita Beliunaite GOsC registration number 11211.

I am currently registered with Aviva, Axa, Vitality, and WPA insurance companies.
